Peter Island is a classic Caribbean resort on its own 1800 acre island in the British Virgin Islands featuring 5 beaches, deluxe accommodations, and outstanding cuisine. Peter Island accommodates just slightly over 100 guests, meaning lots of personal attention if you so desire, and plenty of open space for activities such as tennis, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, biking, sailing and sunning on the shores. A fitness center, massage therapy, and watersports center are located at the end of Deadman's Beach.
The cuisine is excellent with menus, beverage and wines comparable to some of the finest restaurants in New York City . Guests enjoy breakfast and a five course dinner in the Tradewinds Restaurant which overlooks the pool area and Tortola in the distance; a leisurely lunch is served in the beachside grill at water's edge.
Several types of accommodations are available featuring mahogany custom-made French doors, teak furniture, light-weight fabrics and Italian tile in the baths. Large Ocean-view and Garden-Terrace rooms are near the main reception pavilion, restaurant and pool terrace. Spacious beachfront rooms with a large sitting area and patio or balcony overlook Deadman's Bay and beach. Several villas are also available, perched high on the hills to offer incredible panoramic views of Drakes Channel, Tortola and the islands beyond.
Named one of the "Best Places to Stay in the World" by Conde Nast Traveler, Peter Island Resort has only 52 guest accommodations and 2 villas on its vast 1800 acre private island.
32 Ocean View Rooms
20 Beachfront Junior Suites
2 Private Villas (Hawk's Nest villa page, Crow's Nest villa page)
Ocean View Rooms
Nestled between our marina and colorful, palm fringed gardens are Peter Island's Ocean View rooms with picture perfect vistas of romantic sunsets, blue waters, and sailboats lazily drifting by in Sir Francis Drake's Passage.
Each of the thirty two air-conditioned rooms have a private outdoor area surrounded with clusters of tropical plants and palms. They are conveniently located near Tradewinds Restaurant, bar, and lounge and only a short five minute walk from Deadman's Bay beach.
Beachfront Suites
Each suite is surrounded with tropical gardens and has a balcony or patio overlooking Deadman's Bay and the British Virgin Islands beyond. Suites provide spaciousness as one area easily flows into another. Wide French doors open onto a patio or balcony with a table and deck chairs; the king sized bed resides in a nook across from the large sitting area. A romantic Jacuzzi, wide enough for two to sit side by side, is the highlight of the bathroom complex.
The open floor plan takes advantage of the Peter Island 's tropical setting. Large windows and doors bring the outdoors in to match the furnishings with subdued palettes of sunny yellow, gold and Caribbean blues.

The picturesque Sir Francis Drakes Channel crossing from the Beef Island Airport and Tortola to Peter Island is truly a magnificent sight and not to be forgotten, either by day when you can view all the surrounding islands, or by night when the islands' lights twinkle in the distance
Peter Island offers several large motor yachts which serve to be our own private "ferry" system for the comfort and enjoyment of our guests.
One yacht makes ten scheduled round trips a day (between the hours of 6:30 am to 11:30 pm ) from our Peter Island dock to our private ferry dock just east of Road Town , Tortola . Guests arriving at the airport after 6:00 pm will be transferred by van though the quaint seaside neighborhoods of Tortola and take this ferry to the island -- the route is shown in red above.
Another yacht makes several trips during the day directly to and from the Beef Island Airport Dock as shown in blue above.
To arrange a carefree transfer from the airport to the island, it is essential that you notify us in advance of your confirmed arrival and departure times, since the airport boat runs on an "as need" basis. Upon arrival at Beef Island Airport (EIS), you will be met by our Peter Island Concierge who will arrange for your transfer to the island. Usually, you will step onto the Peter Island dock about 1 hour after arrival at the airport
